To some, it may seem something of a miracle that we have restored thermal efficiency in this conservatory, but to us it’s a relatively simple job. All we had to do was remove both the old roof and existing windows, before adding new windows to ensure that the weight of any new roof covering could be supported.
Looking at the conservatory at the conclusion of the project, you would genuinely think that they’re the original roof and windows. We also find the time to adapt the extension to make it a joint spot for dining and lounging, linking it up to the kitchen.
You could easily overlook the compact roof window, but you shouldn’t as it entices a surprising amount of light into the structure, in addition to the light drawn in by the curved front. So that the conservatory can be used at night and spaciousness isn’t compromised, spotlights were fitted into the internal perimeter.
We also attended to the guttering while organising the installation of the roofing system – it functions terrifically. The cherry on the top was the integration of the fire. It will be such a luxury for the householder to have a fire they can ignite into action when the weather is bitter.
