TRADITIONAL ATRIUM ORANGERY

A standard orangery roof just isn’t spectacular enough for some people. An alternative roofing solution is the atrium roof which delivers optimum headspace for an extension of this type and draws natural light in from all angles. Sometimes referred to as a lantern orangery, this atrium orangery offers significant spaciousness so that everyone in the household can congregate within one glorious destination. It has overtaken the traditional living room as the go-to place for relaxation and gets utilised even after dark as the internal ceiling perimeter accommodate a series of downlighters and hi-tech speakers to allow the sound of the TV to be beamed in.
So that the beautiful lawn is taken full advantage of in summer, classic white coloured folding sliding doors have also been included in the design. Just a gentle push is all that’s required to manoeuvre them along to the end of the track. These are supplemented with a set of French doors to provide a classy entrance back into the conventional living space, but we’d imagine that the orangery sees more action nowadays. Adding two copper wall lanterns to the outside of the design gives the occupants a means of shining a light on the orangery at night and showing it proudly off to the world.
