5 Finishing Touches That Are Perfect For Your Conservatory
Few things in life will give you as much of a kick as seeing a stylish new conservatory being constructed at your home and as it will be a permanent fixture, it’s vital that it’s exactly how you envisaged it.
There’s a lot to be said for getting the finishing touches right as they’re what make a conservatory complete.
We can think of at least 5 finishing touches that you really ought to consider when planning your conservatory with one of our designers.
-
Lighting
We very much doubt that you will only want to use your conservatory in the daytime. Conservatories make for an amazing evening spot but only if your lighting is sufficient. If there’s a perimeter ceiling within the design you could have spotlights integrated into it or if the roofing system is strong enough, think about fitting a chandelier and making it a real centrepiece of the room.
-
Solid Roof
Do you have any concerns that the conservatory might not adjust to the climate outside and offer year-round warmth? The installation of a solid roof to the conservatory will ensure you of supreme comfort levels in winter and a suitably cool extension come the summer months. We also fit thermally efficient windows and doors to all of our designs.
-
Patio / French / Bi-Folding Doors
Rather than be totally constrained to conservatory living, you could create an available opening with a patio door, French door or bi-folding door installation. Each of these doors provides a generous opening that will give you a wonderful passage into the garden and stop you getting too addicted to your conservatory.
-
Flooring
For the cosiest of conservatories you could have a plush carpet put down and cover it in a few thick rugs in the event of any spillages or if you intend use it as a dining area you should install some hard flooring so it can cope with chairs scraping on it. Underfloor heating can be expensive but might be worth your money if you want maximum heat.
-
Furniture
Are you sitting comfortably? Our first top tip when buying furniture for your conservatory would be to avoid leather furniture at all costs as exposure to sunlight will cause it to fade. For lounging in the summer months we suggest that you install rattan furniture as it is resistant to UV light and you will also be able to use it outside.
Orion loves to apply the finishing touches to all of our UPVC and aluminium conservatories. Our Inspirations page is a good place to start if you need some ideas to get you started.
