A Short Guide To Buying New Replacement Windows
How are your windows shaping up at the present time? Are they still painting it in a positive light aesthetically, and do you know for certain if they are still as secure as they were when you first had them installed?
Have a long, hard look at them from the outside, and see if the locks offer the same amount of resilience to determine this.
If you feel that they’ve exceeded their lifespan, you need to get some replacement windows purchased for the benefit of you, and your home.
When you’re ready to get new windows organised, go to Maverick Windows or refer to this mini guide for advice on getting the right replacements:
Window style
You could stick to the same window style as you currently have if you want to keep things simple, or you could change styles.
At Orion Windows, styles include casement windows (guaranteed to complement any property), bay and bow windows (great for heritage homes) and tilt and turn windows (the easiest windows to clean).
Find a style that is in keeping with your home’s character and not too ‘out there’, and suited to your locality.
Window material
We rely on two main materials to build our window products and they are UPVC and aluminium, which both provide a fantastic standard of insulation.
UPVC windows are very cost-effective when you consider how affordable they are and that they offer total weather-resistance and the utmost security.
The frames of an aluminium window are more slender and they encompass a higher volume of glass. Their coloured finish is really strong as they are powder-coated, giving them an extra visual impact.
Installation company
If you look online for a window installer who covers your area, you will discover that there are a lot of them! How do you find out who’s good and who isn’t?
Reading any reviews is recommended, and it’s also worth asking people you know if they can suggest any window installers with a good reputation.
Lastly, see if any of the companies have an industry accreditation of some kind. Orion has an accreditation in relation to CE Marking, a notable endorsement.
We’re delighted to have been able to reopen our showroom as it lets window buyers see our window products with their own eyes. Visit us if you want some.
